5th European Human Behaviour and Evolution Association Conference which was held at the University of Wroclaw, POLAND from Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 March 2010 is now over. The conference gathered over 160 attendees from 25 countries and the largest group represented people from UK (65 attendees). During the conference, apart from 6 plenary talks, 42 talks and 65 posters were presented. European Human Behaviour and Evolution Association Conference Scientific Committee distinguished Lisa deBruine for the best rated abstract of the presentation entitled “The health of a nation predicts their mate preferences: Cross-cultural variation in women’s preferences for masculine men” . The prize for the Best Student Talk from all conference attendees went to Shakti Lamba for the presentation entitled “Demography and ecology drive variation in cooperation across human populations” and the prize for the Best Poster to Anke Bullinger for poster entitled “Chimpanzees’ Coordination in a “Stag Hunt” Game”. Congratulation to all winners!!! Our special thank goes to plenary speakers: dr Alexandra Alvergne (University of Sheffield, Department of Animal and Plant Sciences, UK), prof. Josep Call (Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology), prof. Ernst Fehr (Institute for Empirical Research for Economics, University of Zurich), prof. Daniel Fessler (Department of Anthropology, University of California), prof. Stephen Shennan (Institute of Archaeology, University College London) and prof. Eckart Voland (Center for Philosophy and Foundations of Science, University of Giessen) for six hours of outstanding and inspiring lectures. We also thank to all presentation and poster authors and conference attendees for their brilliant scientific contribution to the Conference Programme and for creating exceptional scientific and social atmosphere of the Conference. We hope to meet you all at the next EHBEA Conference !!!!
